About
Welcome to PV Slaughterhouse, where screams are our specialty and
fear is served fresh daily. Nestled in Rainsville, Alabama, this extreme
haunted attraction is not for the faint of heart. Owned and operated by the
dynamic duo, Nathan and Brook Tomlinson, this family-run establishment
boasts a reputation for pushing the boundaries of fear and entertainment.
As visitors step into the chilling world of PV Slaughterhouse, they are met
with a combination of horror, suspense, and adrenaline-inducing
encounters.
PV Slaughterhouse didn't just materialize out of thin air like a ghostly
apparition. Nathan and Brook’s twisted dreams began with a spark of
madness and a dash of terror. From humble beginnings, this haunted haven
has evolved into a macabre masterpiece, drawing in thrill-seekers from far
and wide. Each blood drenched wall within the building tells the tale of a
haunted attraction and owners that refuse to give up.
In 2010, the couple began with a dream, in their yard, with a few
friends and family members, and entry to the PV Haunted Trail was free.
The following year, they charged a dollar. As more and more patrons came
to check out the scares over the next several years, the Tomlinsons ran out
of room to do this at their home. In 2018, fearing that this might be the end
of their dream, they went on a hunt for a bigger location.
The old “Rainsville Quality Meats” location is one well known to Rainsville natives,
as it sat abandoned and neglected for over 30 years. In its glory days, it ran
as a full-service slaughterhouse and meat market. It already had that eerie
feel to it. When they scoped it out as a potential location, they knew the
second they walked through the completely empty building with no doors
or windows, this was what they were looking for, PV Slaughterhouse was
born and the work began. After years of preparation, they unveiled the long
awaited second portion of their haunt, “Gut Pond Trail”, taking them back
to where they started, the woods.
Meet Nathan and Brook Tomlinson, the masterminds behind the
screams at PV Slaughterhouse. With a shared love for horror and a knack
for scaring the living daylights out of people, this duo has turned
their passion into a blood-curdling business venture. Their vision? To
create an unforgettable experience that blurs the line between reality and
nightmare, leaving patrons questioning their own sanity. Nathan, known to
most patrons by the name of “Dr. Pigman”, has always had a love for the
spookier things in life, dreaming one day of being the “guy driving the
hearse”. Behind the scenes, Nathan and Brook juggle a haunted menagerie
of props, actors, and jump scares to keep PV Slaughterhouse running like a
well-oiled coffin. From having their normal lives full of regular day jobs,
children, sports, school, and all the other things that come with children to
training actors to perfect their spine-chilling performances and spending
countless hours, beginning as early as January, building and creating new
sets and props, they never give up. Every day presents a new challenge in
the world of fear and fright, but for the Tomlinsons, the thrill of scaring and
entertaining others is a labor of love that keeps them coming back for more.
Sharing their love of the haunt world, two of their children also work at PV
Slaughterhouse. Ravyn helps keep things moving up front, while Rylee Lou
shares the love of scaring people senseless. Brook’s brother, Sean Bridges
“M.D. Sawbones” has been a staple part of their haunt journey since day
one at PV Haunted Trail.
PV Slaughterhouse isn't just a place of screams and nightmares—it is
also a pillar of the local community. The haunted attraction brings people
into the area from near and far to shop at local stores, restaurants, and gas
stations. PV Slaughterhouse is a family oriented business suitable for kids
and adults of all ages. Open to the public for a “NO SCARES” daytime trick
or treat walk through on Halloween. PV Slaughterhouse is a labor of love
everyone is sure to appreciate, if being frightened “isn’t really your thing”.
The Tomlinson's also employ several individuals throughout the
community, of all ages. Some who face challenges, such as ADHD and Autism, and may not get the opportunity to be themselves elsewhere. “We are committed to making a positive impact beyond the walls of our haunted attraction, there really is a sense of family that comes along with working in a tight knit haunt like ours”, says Brook.
As another haunt season looms ominously on the horizon, Nathan
and Brook have their eyes set on new horrors to unveil. With plans for new
scares, bigger ideas, and even more heart-stopping thrills, the future of the
attraction promises to be darker and more horrific than ever before. PV
Slaughterhouse was rated in the Top 10 Haunts in Alabama by ScurryFace
in 2023 and is honored to be part of the 2024 Alabama Ultimate Haunt
Tour, bringing patrons to ten different haunted attractions across Alabama
over a 3 day span. Brace yourselves, brave souls, for the fear has only just
begun.
In a world where horror comes and goes like a fleeting shadow,
Nathan and Brook are determined to ensure that PV Slaughterhouse stands
the test of time. By consistently pushing the boundaries of fear and
nurturing a loyal fan base, they are committed to sustaining the legacy of
their haunted empire. So, whether you're a horror aficionado or a first-time
scream-seeker, prepare yourself for a future filled with terror, surprises,
and screams at PV Slaughterhouse. They continue to captivate and terrify
visitors with their innovative approach to horror entertainment. From their
